Suvretta ConBrio Celebrations
Events with vigour

ConBrio is an Italian music term that means "with vigour". Vigour aptly describes the entertaining, uptempo events that take place in the banqueting ensemble of the same name at Suvretta House.

Since 2001, numerous celebrities from the realms of culture, politics, and economics, as well as music, sports, and show business talents have had guest appearances here, always with the ambition of delighting discerning Suvretta guests.

ConBrio audiences have had the opportunity to discuss global politics with Klaus Töpfer, Joschka Fischer, and Sabine Christiansen. In particular, the encounter with Nobel Laureate Kofi Annan was a vivid and entertaining discourse on mediation and peacekeeping. It captivated an international audience across all age groups and resulted in a stimulating question-and-answer session.

Music is a recurring highlight at Suvretta House as well. World stars like operatic soprano Montserrat Caballé, the successful I Salonisti – the ensemble that played the ship's band in the 11-Oscar movie Titanic –, and popular German jazz singer Ariane Jacobi have mesmerised audiences here.

Revealing and impressive presentations have also been delivered by world-famous sports celebrities, including Wimbledon champion Boris Becker, adventurer Bertrand Piccard, Olympic gold medalist in speed skating Johann Olav Koss, intrepid explorer Mike Horn, and sympathetic extreme alpinist Ueli Steck. They all fascinated guests with inspiring and in some instances no doubt even motivating anecdotes and stories from their exciting careers.
